That's all we had in the car and that is all we needed. We stopped in a little park by a picnic table and a grill. We left our coats on. It was too early really to have an outdoor treat.
We started a smoky little fire with the wet wood and leaves we found. Finally the little sauce pan of water began to boil and we made the instant tea.
It didn't taste very good, but it was wonderful, because we had made it together, and this was our first ever outing. We had our little store cookies.
Everything we said was either trivial or of vital importance. All that we did mattered though. Only the world did not matter. There was no world.
Not much of a feast--store bought cookies and instant tea, but it was all we needed, because we each were with the person we loved.
