One of my favorite movies was The Truman Show, starring Jim Carrey. In it, the hero lives in a giant set for a tv show, thinking it is a real world. Slowly he becomes suspicious and tries to escape by boat in a sea which is part of the set. His boat comes to the edge of the sea, bumping into the wall of the man-made set. He finally discovers he has been living in a phony world filled with actors and punctuated with commercials.
Gee, it sounds like the life of many in this world. But while Truman catches on and escapes, so many in this world cling to a reality created by the devil and succumb to the commercials which he has created. Many feel that Bible Christians are in such an artificial world of created false reality.
I study the crumbling world structure, knowing that its deception even now is being revealed. Optimism among the inhabitants of this world of lies, is getting hard to find. Words such as "apocalypse" and phrases pertaining to "the end of the world" are used even by people outside the faith.
Is the world catching on? Partly perhaps. But some even believe there may be solutions to the radioactivity of Fukushima and its pollution of the air and sea.
Believers have known that the set we now live in is being "struck". The show is almost over. Do you remember when your boat hit the wall?
